Depth Channels

  • Overbalance Pressure - The amount of pressure in the wellbore that exceeds the pressure of fluids in the formation. Calculated as
OBP=AP-PP
here:

AP - annulus pressure;

PP - reservoir pore pressure;

  • Gas-flow potential factor - is the estimated amount of gas flow that can be expected from a formation. Calculated as
GFPF=MPR/OBP
here:

OBP - Overbalance Pressure

MPR - Theoretical maximum pressure restriction. Calculated as

MPR=SGS/300*L/D
here:

SGS - Static gel strength, lb/100 sq f (Entered on the Fluid Recipe Page)

300 - Conversion factor (to obtain MPR in psi), lb/in

L - length of the cement column, ft

D - = effective diameter of the cement column, in. (hole diameter minus pipe diameter)

Note: when excess volume is entered - hole diameter is calculated from effective diameter
