External Launcher

Introduction

External Launcher allows you to run external application with the parameters specified depending on current context.

You can create launcher using System Configuration Explorer / Configure External Launcher

here Name is the label that is used for selection (when you add a launcher on sidebar - you will see the name) Launch string is the actual command that will be used. Normally this is the full executable file name like c:\Windows\notepad.exe

to add corresponding item on sidebar - click Add Button in corresponding shelf configuration and select the item similar to Dynamic\System\External Applications\ExtApp# 1: External Application Launcher

Examples

Run Notepad

Click Add Launcher, enter notepad as Name and notepad as Launch String

Run Notepad to open text file

Run Notepad to open text file located on drive C: with the name xxx.txt where xxx is the current well UWI

Click Add Launcher, enter notepad as Name and notepad as Launch String
Underneath created item click Add Parameter, select Dynamic\Well\Well Lateral: Unique Well Identifier (UWI)/Code
Enter 
String Before:c:\
String After:.txt
