Observed Net Pressure

Hydraulic Fracture Simulation calculates the observed net pressure using the following equation:

Pnet,obs = Pmeasured + Phydrostatic - Pfriction - Pclosure

The Pfriction term includes pressure drops due to wellbore, perforation and near-wellbore friction. When using Hydraulic Fracture Simulation to model a fracturing treatment it is important to remove as many unknowns as possible, therefore using a down-hole gauge or dead-string to measure the pressure close to the perforations will help to remove uncertainty in the calculation of the hydrostatic pressure and pressure drop
